Art is a learning process. New Generation wants to promote creativity, independence, self-esteem, and self-respect in our youth and offer visual and performing art classes. We believe that young people within our communities will find the joy in self-expression. Psalms 32:8 "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you [who are willing to learn]..."
New Generation Community Art Center was founded 2006 and started in 2016. NGCAC is a free creative Christian-based art program developed by Cassandra L. Crosby.
We dedicate our organization to helping youth produce quality performing arts by teaching, supporting, encouraging, and Bring New Life to Today's Future. In addition, NGCAC offers different art services to help young people who need an outlet to express themselves.
New Generation Community Art Center is a free art program that provides a youth advisory board and promotes creativity, independence, self-esteem, and self-respect within our youth. They will feel valued and gain a sense of self-awareness through the discovery of art.
New Generation Community Art Center, a free Christian-based program, exists to teach, support, mentor, and encourage positive self-identity in young people ages 5-17 through the creative expression of visual and performing arts.
We strive to help our youth overcome obstacles they may face daily by problem-solving through various art projects and performances.
NGCAC endeavors to help youth:
I love teaching drama to students who want to learn something new. To see their smiles and creativity brings tears to my eyes. These students learn stage direction, projection of their voices, facial expression, body movement, use of space, how to do clean transitions, and finish strong.
When I was growing up, I loved dancing all the time. I took a dance class when I got older. I decided to teach young girls and boys how to dance. It happened! That is why I want to talk about these young girls. These young girls had the opportunity to dance at a Girls Rock event in Milwaukee, WI. I was so impressed with them. They worked hard every day with each other to learn different dance routines. There were a lot of challenges that came up during rehearsal time, but we overcame them. I believe in the power of togetherness. How about you?
Poetry, also called verse, is a personal expression of ideas, thoughts, and feelings that conveys a clear message to others. These young ladies are performing at a high school slam. They did a great job.
Year of the Arts is a Milwaukee Public School and Cre8MKE collaborative campaign to raise awareness of, reflect upon, draw connections to, and build support for arts education assets and resources in MPS. This event took place on the Summer Fest grounds.
